Super Visa
The Super Visa is a multi-entry visa and the program allows Canadian citizens or permanent residents to sponsor their parents or grandparents (by blood or adoption) to receive a temporary resident permit that allows them to stay for up to 2 years in Canada per visit and is valid for up to 10 years.
Who is eligible and what are the requirements for Super Visa program?
The parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada:
- whose children or grandchildren have written an invitation letter for them that includes a promise of financial support for the length of their visit.
- who apply only from outside Canada?
- who have proof that the cost of at least one-year medical insurance with a minimum coverage of $100,000 has been paid for them?
- Whose children or grandchildren can provide the proof that their income meets or is above the low-income cut-off (LICO) for the total number of people in their household, including the visiting parents or grandparents.
- Who are not inadmissible to Canada?
